@OK_Magazine:Ed Westwick says filming of the first new Gossip Girl episode is in LA!

Season Four ended with Chuck Bass's (Ed Westwick) heartbreaking decision to step aside and let Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) begin her new life as a Princess-to-be with her fiancé, Prince Louis (Hugo Becker). Meanwhile, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), in sunny Los Angeles, was offered a fantastic summer job working for an A-List Hollywood director just as we discovered that Serena's cousin, Charlie (Kaylee Defer), was the real actress in the family! Back in New York, a newly single Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) convinced Chuck to go on a hedonistic summer trip around the globe while Dan Humphrey's (Penn Badgley) oldest friend went behind his back and found an editor to anonymously publish his autobiographical novel, "Inside."

Season Five will open in the City of Angels when a reenergized Chuck and Nate decide to pay Serena a visit. Back home, Blair learns that planning a royal wedding can be a royal pain, and Dan discovers the ramifications of writing candidly about his closest friends. Finally, the surprise return of cousin Charlie will threaten to destroy the van der Woodsen family from within. Gossip Girl Exclusive: Meet Blair's New Nemesis

A new pot-stirrer is headed to the Upper East Side, and she’s threatening to derail Blair Waldorf’s big fat royal wedding.

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that French actress/model Roxane Mesquida (Kaboom) is joining the cast of Gossip Girl as the meddling sister of Blair’s fiancée, Prince Louis.

Little else is known about Mesquida’s princess character, save for that fact that she is not happy about her brother’s impending union and is hell-bent on sabotaging it. Oh, and the role is recurring, so she’ll be around long enough to do some damage.

Gossip Girl‘s fifth season — its first without Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr — is slated to launch on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c.

Attention Upper East Siders! Season 5’s premiere episode will be called YES, THEN ZERO.

The title is based on yet another film by former brat packer, now Gossip Girl director, Andrew McCarthy: LESS THAN ZERO.

LESS THAN ZERO is a 1987 film about affluent Los Angeles teens, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. “Clay (Andrew McCarthy) is a college freshman who returns home during Christmas break. Clay’s old flame Blair (Jamie Gertz) is now more interested in her new beau Julian (Robert Downey, Jr.), the fun-loving party boy with a penchant for drugs. While Clay tries to rekindle a thing with Blair, Julian becomes addicted to cocaine and starts freebasing. Julian’s friends try halfheartedly to intervene, with no success. Soon he is so far in debt to drug dealer Rip (James Spader) that Julian becomes a male prostitute, whoring for enough money for his next fix.”

Ex-girlfriends, drug habits, former best friends? Now THIS sounds like the Gossip Girl we know and love.

“Yes, Then Zero” will air on September 26, 2011. Let the speculations begin.

ADAM: You might want to brush up on your Thorn Birds over the summer. Because in the first two episodes of the new season, we'll meet a young, very attractive, French-speaking Catholic priest who's probably on the scene to marry Blair and Prince Louis. But his presence makes us wonder if Father Sexypants might also find a certain bridesmaid with whom he'll, ahem, commune. Mon dieu!

A new role added to the fifth season premiere is described currently as 'manager' and is a cute, spunky LA restaurant manager. Nothing more is known yet but she is appearing in both episodes so may be one to watch out for…

According to exec producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran, Hurley will play a character named, ironically enough, Diana Payne, “a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with. Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters — including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself.

aalso_o: When does Gossip Girl start filming in LA?
It's an Aug. 1 for the filming for a seemingly Hollywood storyline including a casting agent and some possible real estate purchases. Does that mean someone (read: Serena) will be putting down roots in Los Angeles? It hard to imagine those Gossip Girls permanently in sundresses.

That looks seriously painful! Ed Westwick (Chuck) showed up on the set of Gossip Girl on July 14 with a gigantic, nasty-looking bruise running up and down his right side.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that Ed got into an actual bar fight this time, but given how he’s in wardrobe, on set, and clearly displaying the injury for cameras — we’re going to assume the bruise is fake. (In which case, kudos to the GG makeup department!)

Since we’re aways on the lookout for a spoilers and speculation, we have to wonder what such a nasty bruise could possibly mean for poor Chuck Bass! Were his ribs crushed during an unfortunate accident on his and Nate’s (Chace Crawford) globetrotting summer escapades? Or maybe it’s a battle wound from some sort of attempt at defending Blair’s (Leighton Meester) honor? In any case, that September 26 Gossip Girl premiere can’t come soon enough!
